Gerloff Finishes Strong Season Inside The Top 10

Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) took part in the final WorldSBK races of the weekend on Sunday, October 18 securing championship points in Race 2 and ending a positive season in 10th place overall.

Sunday dawned with a change in the generally very sunny weather conditions that had been present since the first day, although right until the final laps of the final race of 2026 the rain remained as a potential threat only.

In the morning’s Superpole Race, Gerloff was 13th after starting from 16th position on the grid. With points only allocated to the Top 9 riders in the Superpole Race, Gerloff had one more chance to add to his points total in Race 2.

On his Ninja ZX-10RR, Gerloff would finish in 13th position again, remaining out on track with his dry set-up despite light rain appearing a few laps from the end. As the race finished, the rain suddenly appeared with a vengeance, having held off just long enough.

Over 12 rounds and 26 individual races, Gerloff had a single best race result of fourth, and ended up 10th overall, with 165 points. He was just two points from the rider in front.

There was even an award after Race 2 for Gerloff and his Kawasaki WorldSBK Team, as he secured the ‘Best Finisher’ award. This is given to the rider who makes the greatest level of improvement from their starting position during the races, calculated over the full season.

“We definitely had some ups and a few downs, but all in all I am happy with the whole team and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR. I feel like we got the most out of the bike that we could, and Top 10 in the championship is something that I am decently happy with. For sure, next year I want to make some big improvements and come back fighting stronger and for better positions. We are going to recover over the off-season, train hard, and come back ready for 2027.”
