Back-to-Back Podiums and Strong Season Finish for Jeremy Alcoba in WorldSSP
Jerez, Spain (October 19, 2025) – Kawasaki WorldSSP Team rider Jeremy Alcoba closed out an impressive rookie season in the FIM Supersport World Championship with another standout performance at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto. After claiming his second consecutive podium with a runner-up finish in Race One, Alcoba showed determination and pace again in Sunday’s finale, recovering from last to finish 12th after an early off-track excursion.
A strong Superpole session set the tone for Alcoba’s weekend, qualifying fifth on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. In Saturday’s 17-lap opener, he quickly moved forward from fifth on the grid, carving through the leading group to take the race lead on the final lap. A dramatic last-corner duel saw new World Champion Stefano Manzi edge past on the inside, forcing Jeremy slightly wide and denying him a maiden victory by just 0.051 seconds. The result marked Alcoba’s best finish of the season and lifted him two places in the championship standings to seventh.
In Sunday’s Race Two, Alcoba started from fourth and was once again in the lead group early. However, a mistake entering Turn 1 on lap three sent him through the gravel and to the back of the field. Undeterred, the Spanish rider charged forward with relentless pace, climbing from 30th to 12th by the flag — a recovery that demonstrated both his speed and fighting spirit.
With the points earned in the final round, Alcoba concluded his debut season eighth overall in the championship, just two points shy of seventh place — a remarkable result for both rider and team in their first year together.
Jeremy Alcoba – #52
“I’m super happy with how we finished the season. The podium on Saturday was incredible — I felt great on the bike and was fighting for the win until the very last corner. Sunday was more difficult after my mistake in Turn 1, but I gave everything to come back from last place and still score points. We started the year with some challenges, but we improved a lot, and these final races show the real potential of our Ninja ZX-6R 636. Two podiums in a row, great pace, and strong progress — I think we can be really proud of the job we’ve done. I’m already excited for next season.”
