Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green Fights Hard at John Penton GNCC

MILLFIELD, Ohio (Oct. 13, 2025) - After plenty of mud and dust throughout the 2025 Grand National Cross Country Series, the weather finally cooperated at the John Penton GNCC. Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green delivered a solid performance over the weekend.

Steward Baylor had a bad start but worked his way through the pack on the first lap. After intense battles with numerous riders, Baylor finished ninth in the XC1 Class. “The start set the tone for me this weekend. I pushed, but it was hard to pass out there. I’m happy to be going into the last round healthy,” said Baylor.

Grant Baylor had a good ride, starting just outside the Top 5 and working his way into fifth place in the XC1 Class by the end of the race. “I felt good out there. At one point, I was only a few seconds off the leaders, but then I crashed and lost some ground. I’m happy with my riding, just have to stay on the bike,” said Grant.

Nick DeFeo rode well for the fourth-place position in the XC2 Class. “I struggled with arm pump at the beginning, which made it tough to ride. I finally shook it off at the end and caught up to third place, but just ran out of time,” said DeFeo.

Rachael Archer had an eventful race, leading most of it until some unfortunate crashes relegated her to third in the WXC Class. “It’s a bummer because I rode well enough to win, but my luck with getting around lappers was not good today. I crashed a few times. On to the next one,” said Archer.

The team will compete in the final round of the GNCC Series in two weeks at Ironman Raceway in Indiana.
