Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green Conquers Snowshoe Mountain

SNOWSHOE, W.Va. (June 23, 2025) – The Snowshoe Grand National Cross Country race is known as one of the toughest races in the country, where simply finishing is an accomplishment in itself. Josh Toth did that and then some, capturing the 2025 overall win and the “King of the Mountain” title. Teammates Steward Baylor and Rachael Archer secured wins in the XC1 and WXC classes, respectively. Marking the first time the team has swept the three classes in a GNCC race.

Toth has had an up-and-down year in GNCC so far, with overall podiums and some challenging races, but this past Sunday at Snowshoe proved he’s a force to be reckoned with. Toth started on the second row but quickly made his way to the lead on Lap 2. “I just sent it at the beginning. I knew I needed to be up front early and set my own pace. The race was super tough this year. I definitely got tired, but I think everyone did. I trusted and relied on my technique, and that got me through it,” said Toth. Toth kept the lead until the last lap, when a charging Baylor caught up and made it a battle against teammates. Toth was able to hang on for the overall win by 2.5 seconds over Baylor, and took the XC2 Class win with a dominant seven-minute lead.

Steward Baylor was but a mistake away from possibly winning the overall himself. Baylor passed Toth for the lead with a few miles to go, then a small tipover allowed Toth back by.  Baylor finished second overall, but first in the XC1 Class. “I knew I was catching Josh [Toth] the last few laps. I was pushing harder than I ever have and riding well, but came up just short again. I really wanted that win, but I’m happy for Josh and the team. We did good today,” said Baylor.

Grant Baylor had a strong day on the mountain, and was a small mistake away from battling for a podium finish. Baylor was running third overall before washing the front end and damaging his radiator, which required a pit stop to fix. He managed to work his way back up to a season-best fourth-place finish in the XC1 Class. “I felt good today.  I’m happy with my speed, I just need to keep it on two wheels, and I can be up front,” said Baylor.

Rachael Archer dominated the WXC Class, winning by almost six minutes. Archer started third but moved into the lead by the three-mile marker and never looked back. “I had a lot of fun out there. The team and I nailed my bike setup. I’m really happy with my ride and happy to gain some more points heading into the summer break,” said Archer.

Nick DeFeo had a solid day, finishing fourth in the XC2 Class. Collier Martinez claimed fourth in 250 A Class, while Olin Daniels and Caleb Wood finished second and third in 4-Stroke A Lites Class, respectively.

The team races again this weekend at the Little Raccoon National Enduro in Ohio.
