Gerloff Matches Best Finish of the Season at Cremona
Kawasaki WorldSBK Team rider Garrett Gerloff wrapped up the Cremona round with a strong performance in Race Two, capping off a weekend marked by steady improvements in both bike setup and race pace.
The 3.768km Cremona Circuit hosted the final two races of WorldSBK Round Four on Sunday, May 4. Gerloff finished both contests, equaling his best result of the season—12th place—in the second full-distance race aboard his Ninja® ZX™-10RR.
In the ten-lap Superpole Race, held in warm and overcast conditions, the American rider climbed from 18th on the opening lap to finish 15th. The cooler track temperatures compared to earlier in the weekend contributed to improved feel and performance as Gerloff advanced steadily through the field.
Race Two proved to be the highlight of the weekend for the Italian-based squad. With further refinements to his machine, Gerloff was able to race more competitively and engage in consistent battles throughout the 23-lap contest, ultimately crossing the line in 12th—matching his top result of the season so far.
Now 17th in the overall standings with 19 points, Gerloff is just three points adrift of the rider ahead as the championship hits the one-third mark.
Round Five of the 2025 WorldSBK season will take place at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, from May 16–18.
Garrett Gerloff:
“It turned out to be a really good final day at Cremona. We’re still not where we want to be, but at least we’re racing with the pack and making passes. I felt more in the mix than I have in the last few rounds. We’re making progress—even if that’s not fully reflected in the results just yet. I’m happy with how today went and really grateful to the team for their hard work. Now it’s time for a short break before we head to Most and keep building.”
