Dylan Rempel and Darian Sanayei Win at Gopher Dunes

Gopher Dunes hosted Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2021 Triple Crown Series this past weekend.  With the end of motocross season, teams and riders were excited for the return of the supercross season.  Riders from across Canada competed in multiple classes on KX65, KX85, KX250 and KX450 race machines.

The team traveled from our race shop in Breslau, Ontario to Tillsonburg, Ontario on Thursday. The team set up the pit area and finished up some bike work for the races.  The track layout was great with one side for amateur riders and the other side for professionals.

On Friday, Dylan continued his impressive season where he qualified fastest and won all his heat races and main events in all three classes. He won the 85, Supermini, and 250 Open Classes. Dylan competed against 250s on his KX112 showing the ability of rider and machine.

Saturday, Dylan continued working on his supercross skills winning both 85, Supermini, and 250 Open heat races.  In the 250 Open final, due to very wet conditions, we pulled Dylan off the track to prevent the risk of injury.

Darian had a good start on Friday but had several issues on Lap 1 putting him behind where he kept working towards the front and ended up eighth. In the second main event, Darian corrected some mistakes getting another good start and finished in third. This put him fourth overall for the day which gave him confidence moving into Saturday and Round 2.

Saturday, Darian qualified fastest and had a good race in Moto 1 finishing second and was able to find some new lines for Moto 2. Here he got the holeshot and finished first. With 2-1 moto scores for first overall for the day, Darian now sits just 7 points out of the championship.

Marshal qualified second, had good starts and went 2-2 in the motos for second overall on Friday.  After the race on Friday, we discussed options to improve both Marshal’s starts and bike set up.

Saturday, Marshal achieved better starts and led some laps looking more comfortable pushing the leader in both motos. Marshal had 2-2 moto scores finishing second overall.  Marshal will do some testing this week and is looking forward to the last rounds to accomplish some wins.

Thank you to Canadian Kawasaki Motors for their continued support of racing programs across Canada. With support from Kawasaki and our marketing partners, we were able to provide trackside assistance to multiple Kawasaki riders.
