Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green™ Rider Nick DeFeo Dominates the Opening Round of the American National Enduro Championship
The Redline Oil AMA American National Enduro Championship (ANEC) presented by MSR Racing kicked off its inaugural season in the sands of Sumter, South Carolina, at the Redline Oil Sumter National Enduro hosted by the Sumter Enduro Riders Motorcycle Association.
Rocky Mountain Red Bear Racing Kawasaki Team Green™ had a solid outing to begin its 2026 campaign with podium finishes in each of the pro classes.
Defending Pro 2 Class Champion Nick DeFeo started his championship defense dominantly, taking all six test wins of the day to sweep the Pro 2 Class and earn his first victory of the season aboard his KX™250X. Defeo’s strong pace also put him into the Top 5 overall in three tests.
Three-time National Enduro Champion, Grant Baylor, got off to an uncharacteristically slow start while adapting to changing bike settings. After an eighth-place finish in the opening test, Baylor improved in each of the following tests and ultimately posted the fastest time in Test 4. His increasingly consistent riding would land him in third overall to end the day.
Former series champion Josh Toth returned to action for the first time since suffering a season-ending injury in 2025. While still working to regain his race pace, Toth suffered a DNF in the final test that would hurt his overall result.
The team will look to use the positive momentum to tackle next weekend’s season-opening Grand National Cross Country race in Union, South Carolina, at the Big Buck GNCC.
After a strong start that included an opening test win, defending series champion Steward Baylor was looking good for an overall win, but a crash in Test 5 would slow his progress and drop him to fifth overall when the day was done.
