Points For Gerloff In Final Motorland Race
Kawasaki WorldSBK Team rider Garrett Gerloff secured a points-paying finish at MotorLand Aragón on Sunday, September 28, with a determined ride to 14th place in Race Two.
Conditions remained dry throughout the race weekend, though stronger winds developed late in the day at the 3.15 mile Spanish circuit.
In the ten-lap Tissot Superpole Race, Gerloff started 16th on the grid and crossed the line in 15th. Later in the 18-lap Race Two, he worked his way forward from 19th on the opening lap to finish 14th, earning two championship points. Despite the progress, he was unable to find the pace needed to climb higher in the order.
Gerloff leaves Aragón 16th in the WorldSBK standings, adding three points to his tally over the weekend.
The 2025 season now heads to its decisive final stretch, with the penultimate round at Estoril (October 10–12) followed one week later by the finale at Jerez.
Garrett Gerloff:
“It got windy on Sunday and looked like it might rain at the end. A positive is that I didn’t crash, but honestly, that’s about it. It was a tough weekend. I gave it everything, as always, but I just don’t have the pace I need. Earlier in the year it felt like we were making progress, but now it feels like we’re going backwards. I don’t want to be negative, but I’m not happy and we need to make improvements—this is not where we deserve to be.”
