Gerloff Secures Best Finish of the Season with 11th Place at Most
Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) delivered his strongest performance of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship season so far, securing 11th place in Race One at Autodrom Most, Czechia.
Saturday began on a positive note for the American rider, who earned his best qualifying result since joining Kawasaki. In bright and dry conditions during Superpole, Gerloff piloted his Ninja ZX-10RR to eighth overall, placing him in the middle of the third row for the first 22-lap race of the weekend.
Gerloff made a solid start, crossing the line in tenth at the end of the opening lap and moving up to ninth shortly after. Despite dropping a few positions mid-race, he regained ground to finish 11th, scoring valuable championship points.
With two more races scheduled for Sunday—first the 10-lap Superpole Race followed by Race Two over 22 laps—Gerloff will have further opportunities to build on Saturday’s momentum.
Garrett Gerloff:
“That was definitely the best Saturday I’ve had all year, and I’m really happy about it. Qualifying in eighth and starting from the third row was a solid step forward—it might be my best qualifying with Kawasaki so far. In the race, I felt decent but was missing something from the start. I kept getting passed, which is never fun, but I gave it everything I had. I think we’ve identified a few things to work on so that doesn’t happen again tomorrow. I’m looking forward to giving it another go on Sunday.”
