Two more Top 6 Motos for Mathis Valin in Sweden

Kawasaki Racing Team MX2’s Mathis Valin continued to show impressive form at the Swedish round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship in Uddevalla, securing two more top-six finishes against the class’s top title contenders.

In race one, the French teenager made a strong start and executed a sharp inside pass in turn two to emerge in fourth. He then engaged in a series of thrilling battles with each of the three championship frontrunners, holding his own and showing remarkable determination. Though he ultimately yielded to the more experienced rivals, Valin’s resistance underscored his growing potential in the highly competitive class.

Race two saw the rookie build further on his momentum. After another fourth-place start, he quickly charged into third by the halfway point of the opening lap. Valin confidently held the position for most of the race, even staying ahead of the reigning world champion, until a small off-track mistake on the final lap cost him one position. Despite the slip, he secured sixth overall on the day and solidified his tenth place in the championship standings—a position he had claimed in Saturday’s qualifying race.

With several rounds remaining, Valin now eyes a move further into the top eight as he continues to learn and improve at a rapid pace.

Mathis Valin:
"It was another good weekend. I have the speed, and everything is coming together better and faster than I expected. Racing with the top guys each week is helping me learn so much. In race one, I was in P4 for most of the moto before the championship contenders got past me at the end. In race two, I stayed in third ahead of the world champion until the last lap when I made a big mistake and Kay passed me. But overall, I’m happy with the progress. Next week it’s back to sand at Arnhem—a new track for me—but I’m looking forward to it."
