Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green's Ryder DiFrancesco Wins His Third Consecutive SX Futures Main Event in Glendale

Round 5 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship welcomed 54,781 fans to Glendale, Arizona, where Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Ryder DiFrancesco once again proved he’s the man to beat in the 250SX Futures Class and came away with his third consecutive win.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s DiFrancesco once again proved himself to be the top amateur contestant in the SX Futures field. From the beginning of qualifying, DiFrancesco looked the most comfortable tackling the tricky sand and long rhythm sections in State Farm Stadium. When the 250SX Futures qualifying ended, it was DiFrancesco with the fastest lap (1:05.635) and the number one gate pick.

At the start of the SX Futures Main Event, DiFrancesco was on track to claim the holeshot and immediately pull away until contact from another rider bumped the No. 23 into second. Unphased, DiFrancesco made the pass into the lead one turn later in the sand section and began to build a sizeable gap. As one of the only 250SX Futures riders to consistently tackle the long rhythm sections, DiFrancesco extended his lead while the other riders continued to struggle. When the checkered flag came out, DiFrancesco crossed the line first, over 14 seconds ahead of second, and claimed his third consecutive 250SX Futures win.

“My weekend was great. I love how we get to practice and race throughout the day like the pros and see how the track breaks down. I learned so much from these experiences and being around the pros in a race setting. The long rhythms and whoops were tricky this weekend, but I really liked the football stadium layout, it has to be one of my favorites.” - Ryder DiFrancesco
