CPSC, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. announce recall of 2008 KFX®50 and KFX®90 All Terrain Vehicles.
The following product safety
recall was conducted voluntarily by Kawasaki in
cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop
using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed. For more information about recalls,

Product: 2008 Kawasaki
model KFX50 and KFX90 All Terrain Vehicles.

Hazard: The throttle
valve guide pin can move during vehicle operation
and prevent the carburetor slide from returning to
the idle position when the throttle lever is
released. This could create the potential for a
crash resulting in injury or death.
Incidents/Injuries:
None reported.
Description: The
affected models are 2008 Kawasaki KFX50 and KFX90
All Terrain Vehicles. These are youth-model ATVs
intended for users 6 (KFX50) or 12 (KFX90) years
of age or older, with parental supervision. The
affected models are green or white with black
trim. The word "Kawasaki" is on the sides of the
front cowl and the model name is on either side
below the handlbars.

Kawasaki dealers from August 2007 to June 2008
with an MSRP of $1,749 (KFX50) and $2,199 (KFX90).
Remedy: Consumers
should stop using the ATV immediately and contact
their Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment
to replace the carburetor.
