Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green started picking up hardware at the AMA Freestone Spring Championship with Darian Sanayei and Austin Forkner collecting the first two championships of the event. Forkner was the star of the day with a second place finsh to clinch the championship along with three other race wins. Forkner sits in the catbird’s seat in the Supermini 1 12-15, Supermini 2, 13-16 and 85cc 12-14 Mod classes after wining each of those races today. Also earning a race win in the 85cc 9-11 Mod class was Garrett Marchbanks. 

The riders not only had to battle their competition and the track at Freestone County Raceway, but they also had to deal with strong winds that blew all day. With consistent breezes at nearly 25 mph, and gusts nearly twice as strong, the wind added another challenge for all of the riders.
