Irvine, Calif. (August 2, 2012) – With two days of racing complete from the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn’s, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green is in position to capture a hand full of the titles as the final motos start tomorrow in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Leading the charge is Adam Cianciarulo who is looking to leave the ranch with two more championships. He won both motos Thursday and now has a perfect score in both the Supermini 1 and Supermini 2 classes. In the 65 (7-11) Mod class, Carson Mumford dominated on his KX™65, while Kawasaki rider Gary Semics won his second moto in the Masters 50+ class on his KX™450F. All three riders sit in control of their respective classes along with many other Team Green riders who are in position to win.

Cianciarulo was on a mission Thursday aboard his KX™100 and lead from start to finish in both of his motos. Collecting both holeshots, he did not have to battle for position, but did battle against the elements of the track. The gate dropped for Cianciarulo’s first moto at 7:30 a.m. on a soft, muddy, rutted track, while his second moto didn’t go off until 5:00 p.m. on hard-packed, slick conditions. He conquered both challenges and is four-for-four in his motos.

“The holeshots were key today, especially in the morning,” said Cianciarulo. “The track was really muddy and it would have been really hard to get up front in those conditions. My afternoon moto was probably the toughest of the week because it was so late in the day and I had to wait around nearly nine hours after my first moto. I was able to adjust to the track quickly and came away with both wins. I really love the 20-minute motos here at Loretta’s and I feel it plays to my advantage.”

When it comes to racing dirt bikes, few people on the planet are as well rounded as Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbott. A multi-time AMA National Hare & Hound Champion, Abbott built his reputation blasting through the deserts of the Pacific Southwest. Just one month ago, Abbott was broadcast around the world on ESPN battling it out at the EnduroX main event at X Games Los Angeles. He came to Loretta’s after a 7-year hiatus looking to test his motocross skills against the nation’s best. In the Senior +40 class, Abbott grabbed the holeshot aboard his KX™450F and went on to finish second, and sits second with one moto remaining. In the Vet +35 class, Abbott is currently tied for second overall with Team Green’s Clark Stiles, with a 3-4 result, going into the third and final motos of the week.

One of the most challenging obstacles on the track at Loretta Lynn’s are the Ten Commandments. The obstacle consists of ten large whoops, which riders can blitz like rollers or flow through like a rhythm section depending on line choice. While the heavily rutted track can make it difficult for racers to find a place to pass, the Ten Commandments provides several different lines, but none that afford an advantage over the others.
