Kawasaki’s Whibley and Jarrett Remain On Top Steps of OMA Podium
Kawasaki’s Whibley and Jarrett Remain On Top Steps of OMA Podium
Irvine, Calif. – Kawasaki’s Paul Whibley and Jimmy Jarrett went 1-2 for the second straight round during the OMA Nationals in Millerstown, Ky. Whibley was able to continue his quest to defend his 2008 championship, while Jarrett was able to come from dead last to finish a well-earned second on the tight, rutted track.
Whibley Again
Whibley is now two for two in the OMA National series on his KX™450F. After racing to the holeshot, Whibley took off into the tight woods and led nearly every minute of every lap.

“The race couldn’t have gone any better,” said Whibley. “MY KX450F fired up super quick from the dead engine start and I was able to lead early. I know Jimmy (Jarrett) is one of the best in the tight courses so I tried to put in some good laps to gain a little bit of a gap. It turned out to be a fun race.”
Come From Behind
Former OMA Champion Jarrett didn’t get the start he wanted and used the first lap to catch up to third. He managed to pull within 20 seconds of his teammate Whibley, but got stuck. He used much of his energy to get going again and settled into a good pace to bring home second.

“After I got stuck, my energy was gone from being sick all week,” said Jarrett. “I was happy with second, but I also wasn’t happy with it. The next race I will be ready to take a win.”
Excited
With two wins in a row, Whibley will continue his pursuit of another title next week at the seventh round of the GNCC. Whibley won his second race in that series last weekend and looks to add another to his belt.

“I am really pumped to take the win after surviving the tough conditions,” said Whibley. “It’s a great way to start my title defense and I just hope to continue in this form the rest of the season.”
