The Monster Energy Kawasaki off-road team has a winning collection of riders ready to make an impact in two diverse series throughout 2012.
Back for another season is the consistent Justin Soulé, a successful rider who knows what it takes to get on the podium. His impressive riding skills have kept him at the top of two series, finishing third overall in the AMA EnduroCross series and fifth overall in the WORCS series last season. He also picked up a bronze medal in the inaugural EnduroCross event at X Games 17. For the 2012 race season, Soulé is hungrier than ever to climb back on the podium in both series.
Back for another season is Taylor Robert, who finished the WORCS season third-overall. In his first-ever AMA EnduroCross season, Robert finished eighth overall in the points and earned the AMA EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship for being the highest ranked pro-rider at or under 21 years of age. At the end of the year, Robert headed south of the border to Tecate, Mexico for the Tecate Hare Scrambles and dominated the entire field to secure the win. Robert has been training hard and is more than ready to earn his first WORCS Pro title.
Although he is considered the new guy on the team, Bobby Garrison is no newcomer to the sport of off-road racing. He began racing the WORCS series Pro class in 2006 and nearly earned the championship, finishing in the runner-up spot only one point off of the leader. Since then Garrison has won several WORCS events and last season was awarded the WORCS Top Pro Privateer. At the Baja 250 in San Felipe, Mexico, Garrison and his teammates finished in second place after a hard fought battle through the Mexican desert.
Back for his 18th-consecutive season with Monster Energy Kawasaki, Destry Abbott will be taking a slightly different role for 2012. Although he won’t be dedicated to chasing any titles this season, Abbott will be racing selected WORCS, AMA EnduroCross, AMA National Hare & Hound, and other events throughout the race season. Recently, Abbott took third at the inaugural motorcycle event at the King of the Hammers in Lucerne, Calif. Abbott will also be acting as a brand-ambassador for Kawasaki helping to launch new products and promote events like the Ultimate Family Summer vacation. |
