CNC Master Machinist
Department: Product Advancement
and Racing (PAR)
Reports To: Motocross team
manager/Machine shop supervisor
Summary
With a high degree of experience and knowledge in
all aspects of machining and programming techniques,
this position is responsible for the complete
prototype machining process, as applied to the
motorsports racing and product development
environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- Forecasts time schedules, material needs,
and costs of individual projects to apply the
most efficient machining techniques to a
motorsports racing environment.
- Machines requested product to specific
dimensions. Creates and modifies precision parts
by interpreting blueprints and cad type
drawings. Creates tooling fixtures for
consistent reproduction of projects.
- Tracks parts usage on all projects. Monitors
and logs times on all assigned jobs and ensures
that all assigned schedules are met.
- Monitors machines and performs scheduled
maintenance. Cleans shop and assigned work areas
on a daily basis including organizing tools,
materials and equipment.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding
all company information, product technology,
research and development components, etc.
- Exercises the highest degree of safety when
operating equipment and machinery. Reports any
injuries or unsafe working conditions
immediately to management.
Education and/or Experience
High school or GED is required. Minimum of five
years experience in a machine shop environment. Must
have experience operating hand tools,calipers,
micrometers, hand drills, hand grinder, belt and
disc sanding machines, band saws, CNC lathe, CNC
machining center, as well as standard lathe and
mill.
ANSI Y14.5 1984 blueprint reading experience and
Haas machining center experience preferred.
Computer Skills
Must have solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and
Excel.
Solid works, Mastercam , and Autocad experience
preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must effectively manage multiple priorities and
assignments and approach challenges in a creative
and intellectual manner.
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
Must demonstrate strong understanding of motorcycle
machine set-up procedures, and basic two/four stroke
engine mechanics.
Must possess the physical endurance to work long
hours, sometimes in excess of 10 hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 115 lbs.
