The following summary highlights our key programs for all Regular employees and these benefits represent Kawasaki’s commitment to the welfare and development of our employees.
Medical:
Kawasaki provides medical coverage for regular, full time employees. The Open Access Plus Plan (OAP) offers Network benefits which pay a high level of benefits. Employees and their covered family members have the flexibility of choosing which providers to use in the network for medical services. The OAP plan also allows you the choice to see a non-network provider after satisfying an annual deductible. The plan allows you the ability to elect coverage for your dependents and pay the premiums through payroll deduction with pre-tax dollars.
Dental:
Kawasaki provides regular, full time employee with dental coverage through a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) panel of dentists or a Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO) plan. The DHMO plan is only available for employees in CA. Each plan allows you the ability to elect coverage for your dependents and pay the premiums through payroll deduction.
Vision:
Kawasaki provides regular, full time employees with vision coverage through a contracted network of doctors. You and your eligible dependents are automatically enrolled in the VSP plan.
Flexible Spending Accounts:
Kawasaki’s flexible benefit programs allow employees to pay for certain eligible benefits with pre-tax dollars. This means that contributions are made before any income and payroll taxes are calculated and deducted. Your contribution amount can be used to pay for medical care you or your eligible dependents receive which is not covered by the company health plans or any other benefit plan.
You can also set aside pretax dollars to pay for child care expenses for your dependents. The dependent care must be necessary for you (or you and your spouse) to work or for your spouse to attend school full-time.
Life Insurance:
In the event of your death-on or off the job- your beneficiary will receivea lump sum benefit equal to two times your annual salary up to a maximum amount of $275k.
Supplemental Term Life Insurance:
Kawasaki offers a supplemental term life insurance policy for employees to purchase at a group rate through payroll deduction. Employees can apply for coverage for themselves and their covered dependents.
Accident Insurance:
In the event of your death from an accidental injury, your beneficiary will receive a lump sum benefit equal to four times your annual salary up to a maximum of $550k. If you are dismembered, due to an accident,you are entitled to a benefit defined under the policy.
Wellness Program:
Kawasaki is committed to providing a healthy workplace and encourages its employees to live a healthy lifestyle on a long term basis. Each year the Company provides a health risk assessment screening for their employees and covered family members on the medical plan as well as annual flu vaccination clinics and other health preventative services.
Disability Insurance:
If you are disabled because of personal sickness, injury, or pregnancy, disability insurance, in coordination with other disability income you may receive, will pay 60% of your base salary up to age 65.
Workers Compensation:
If you become disabled as a result of an on-the-job injury or disease related to your work, you will be eligible for benefits as determined by your state’s Workers’ Compensation law.
Long Term Care:
Kawasaki offers long term care insurance at affordable group rates. Premiums can be paid through payroll deductions. Coverage information is available in the Human Resources department.
Employee Assistance Program:
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential, personal assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for most types of personal problems.
Pension Plan:
When an employee retires from the company, they will receive a monthly benefit or a lump-sum amount from the Kawasaki Pension Plan. The amount is based on salary and years of service. An employee becomes 100% vested in the plan after 5 years of service.
401(k):
New hired employees can participate in the 401k plan the first of the month following six months of service. Kawasaki currently matches .50¢ for each $1.00 contributed up to 4%. Employees are 100% vested immediately.
Paid Time Off (PTO):
Paid Time Off is used for vacations, illnesses, emergencies or any other reason not covered by Kawasaki’s other leave of absence plans. PTO is earned on the first day of each month based on years of service.
0-5 year of service 15 days per year
5-15 year of service 20 days per year
15+ years of service 25 days per year
Holidays:
Kawasaki normally observes 8 paid holidays each year. In addition, the company will select four extra days as holidays each year and announce these days before January 1st.
Educational Assistance:
Kawasaki encourages continued education and offers reimbursement up to $3,000 per calendar year for courses related directly to an employee’s job.
Training Programs:
Kawasaki offers training programs that will help increase employee skills in becoming a more professional and effective employee to the organization.
Credit Union Membership:
Kawasaki offers credit union membership through Wescom Credit Union, one of the largest and strongest credit unions in the nation.
Direct Deposit:
Kawasaki offers direct deposit of paychecks to your banking account every payroll period.
Service Awards:
Kawasaki appreciates longevity of service and recognizes it through a Service Awards Program. After ten years of service, employees are inducted into the Shogun Club.
Employee Product Purchase Program:
Eligible employees can purchase Kawasaki vehicles, parts, accessories, power products and personal computers at discount costs and offers financing. |
